Process of installation

The installation process

The Installation procedure from initial enquiry to completion.

  1. Contact Preseli Solar with your enquiry via website or phone.
  2. We will arrange a convenient time for us to visit the proposed installation site and…
    • Carry out a detailed site survey to assess the most suitable location for your system, the available roof space (or ground space) and the electrical requirements.
    • Evaluate a suitable location for the inverter.
    • Discuss your personal requirements and preferences.
    • Answer any questions you may have.
    The site visit should last no longer than 60 minuties and you will not be pressured into buying.

  3. The information taken from the site survey is used to design a system suited to your needs and requirements leading to…
    • Within 5 working days we will provide you with a full quotation and details of our proposed system, the estimated financial returns from it and a copy of the contract and warranty details.
    • If you are happy to proceed you return your signed acceptance form and return it to Preseli Solar along with your 25% deposit.
    • We then give you a “cooling off period of 7 days” only then does it become a formal contract between Preseli Solar Ltd and you the customer.
    • Your deposit is held in our client account and guaranteed under the QANW  insurance scheme.

  4. Installation date arranged, normally within 2-4 weeks from date of contract, depending on schedule.

  5. If an Energy Performance Certificate is required, the assessment is carried out as soon as possible to ensure level D will be reached.

  6. Day before the installation, scaffolding is erected.

  7. Installation commences, under normal circumstances taking 1 – 2 to days to complete.

  8. Final assessment for Energy Performance Certificate is carried out (where necessary).

  9. On completion customer pays the remaining 75% outstanding balance.

  10. On receipt of cleared final payment details entered on MCS website and MCS and EPC certificates generated.

  11. Customer e-mailed/posted MCS and EPC documents and final invoice/receipt together with full handover documentation.

  12. Customer submits application for feed in tariff to electricity provider with MCS and EPC certificates and our final invoice/receipt.

  13. Customer gets paid ‘Feed in Tariff’ for all solar electricity generated for the next 20 years.

  14. The complete procedure normally takes no longer than 6 weeks.
